This collection of audiovisual resources is aimed at children between 3 and 10 years old. It aims to offer to children, teachers and guardians, some melodies from the traditional Portuguese songbook, combined with ideas and suggestions for working on musical content in a creative, fun and organized way._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_

Each video is designed to  keep children interested, exploring different musical contents through stimuli, games and games inspired by the characteristics of each song. The use of videos at home or in class does not dispense with the support of an adult so that the contents are clear and assimilated. However, for the child, just watching the video can be stimulating in itself and enough to awaken curiosity and the desire to try out some of the suggestions independently. Over time, we hope to be able to make available a wide range of songs that will help bring back to our children this repertoire that is magnificent and that may very well begin to be part of the musical choices in the classroom and at home.

LEARN WITH THE SOUND OF BUZIOS

General objectives

  • relate expressive areas and play with their articulation

  • develop memory and the ability to imitate

  • develop coordination, rhythmic sense and intonation

  • bringing children, teachers and guardians closer to traditional Portuguese repertoire 

 

Suggestions and recommendations

 

  • Each proposed exercise can and should be adapted to each group of children and each song learned; what we offer here are just suggestions and means to diversify the musical and pedagogical offer for children;

  • The exercises that we present to you in each video are enough for several classes; present them calmly and progressively to your children or students;

  • Look for other beautiful songs that stimulate children's sensitivity and creativity; diversify as much as possible; children are able to understand and play with all music expound with clarity and enthusiasm;

  • Look for Portuguese repertoire; if you need other songs, we are at your disposal;

  • Avoid singing below middle C; an adult's vocal comfort zone is different from that of most children; if you have children who are out of tune, patiently help them to explore their own voice. In most cases they have never done it properly e so they have difficulty recognizing the pitch of the sound and copying it. Explore the voice smoothly,  without fear of singing high or producing less vulgar sounds.
