In addition to the regular work of teaching traditional Portuguese music, Cardo-Amarelo has collaborated with several municipalities 1 to preserve their respective traditional repertoires and help communities organize themselves, keeping alive the desire to sing and play their own music.
An example of this is the collaboration with the project "Há Festa na Aldeia" (There's a Party in the Village), with which six choirs were created in small villages within the "Aldeias de Portugal" (Villages of Portugal) network. In a slightly different format, it also created two choirs in the urban context of Vila Nova de Gaia, within the FIGaia forum.
Currently, we have two ongoing projects: "Verde Gaio" (Green Jay), in partnership with the Municipality of Lousada and the Cultural Musical Association of Lousada, and "Constelações" (Constellations), in partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory and the Musical Society of Guimarães, both with the support of the Directorate-General for the Arts."
